A few days ago I noticed that I had a rather big increase in CPU and GPU temps. All of my fans are working. I did try to change the CPU cooler, but that did not work out seeing how the cooler did not fit in my case (I need to buy a new case). I put the original CPU cooler back in.

I noticed that there was an increase of about 10 deg C. I assume that this may be due to the fact that I need to reapply thermal paste. I also noticed that my GPU temps shot up almost 20 deg C.

Why would my GPU temps shoot up so much if my CPU temps went up considerably less?

Anything that you guys could suggest that I try to get my temps back down to their former temps?

*Current temps are CPU - 44 deg C / GPU - 59 deg C

Did the temps of your house/city go up, too?

Is there an overclock?

No over clock, everything is running stock.

Are there any programs in the background that may be putting a load on your GPU/CPU?

No. The temps are there when idle and doing light work (word processing, web browsing). Anything that usually pushes my computer (Games, Premiere) cause the temps to rise even further.

Have you connected a second monitor?

Have you connected a second monitor?

Have been running multiple monitors since I have built the rig. I doubt that is the issue.

No, my city has been getting considerably colder these past 2-3 weeks because of constant blizzard-like conditions. My house normally stays at 68 deg f and occassionally goes up to 70-71 deg f.

i'm going to make the assumption that the need for new thermal paste is the reason for the CPU temp increase. Is there anything I could try in an attempt to isolate the issues to see if there is anything that may be causing the increase in temps?
