TOS was the only one I really just had trouble watching....I can easily watch any of the other series, but TOS was just hard for me.

The cheesiness is part of the show, although I do sometimes wish they wouldn't always try to force a lesson into the show....but whatever. I'm just hoping there will be a new Star Trek tv series.

Maaaaan, i dunno. Me and all my trekie buddies kinda came to this conclusion years ago. Voyager at least attempted to bring in new locations, enemies, and encounters. All DS9 ever seemed to do was make a pretty good example of a static environment, with very limited character development (im looking at you "captain") and a pretty bland story arch. Sure, it gave us a lot of geeky u-verse info but still... Some of those actors were just atrocious... xD

xD, i hear you man. I didnt grow up for the orig series, i only picked up when i was in elementary school, at the end of TNG and DS/Voyager.  Got used to a more serious trek, not the shirtless Shatner punching aliens in the face and bangin alien babes.

Haha, I know the feeling. Voyager is actually what got me into Star Trek -- I probably first saw it shortly after it ended -- so like 2003~.

I actually liked the idea of a space station as one of the shows -- I feel like it gave a pretty different side of the story. And thats where DS9 was different, unlike every other Star Trek, it's not about exploration in the normal sense. It's about exploring religion/culture. Although, I got a little tired of all the Bajoran crap.

I guess it depends how you want to go about defining a show as good... Do you base it on which series had some of your favorite episodes, or which series had fewer bad ones.... For me, Voyager had some of my favorite episodes and had the fewest bad episodes. DS9 was next for some of my favorite episodes, although it had the most bad ones. Then theres Enterprise, which I would say had the second least bad episodes, but the best ones weren't quite as good/as frequent as in DS9/Voyager. And then TNG had far fewer 'bad' episodes than DS9, but the good episodes weren't as good... so

thanks guys! OP is off to bed 2 am local time !

Good night, off to watch some TNG.

It's an easy mistake to make, especially when you are younger.  Deep Space Nine gave Star Trek some much needed depth.  Quark and Garak were up there in terms of the best Star Trek characters of all time.  And speaking of the Captain.... you need to watch the episode that spawned the, "IT'S A FAAAAAAKEEEEEE" meme.  Avery Brooks did a brilliant job acting in that episode.

I love the Section 31 story arc though. I think that was the best sort of mini arc in Star trek.

ahhh there's nothing better than a DS9 vs Voyager war.... Vulcan death match..... FIGHT!

I have to say I kinda weigh Voyager over DS9 I loved the pinnochio theme they had with Data in TNG and to see that recreated with the doctor and Seven was magical to me. the terribleness of Neelix and Tuvok was equally matched by Sisko

back to the OP after TNG then DS9 then Voyager. if you want to have the TOS  experience but can't stomach all of the cheese and shittiness then Star Trek Continues is my recommendation. its so faithful to the series that it kind of warms the heart, its a work of love in video form.
