Soo, with wired do i need to get a wired card to get the full potential out of my modem? I use Comcast and i should be getting around 150 Mbps i am getting this,        { http://gyazo.com/7fdace302910c6f106b2c4ae9463ca8e} i shouldn't whine i know but i stream and its connected with a Ethernet straight from the modem so i don't understand the issue. (cat7 cable i got for free not sure if its the best but it does have gold on the ends. xD). the motherboard i have is the {GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 }, my friend (witch i think does not know what he is talking about...) keeps telling me i need to place a router between the modem( its the arris tg862 witch has a built in CRAPPY router) and the computer =.= but wouldn't that just increase the distance and latency? Thank you for reading and replying.

Buy a better one?

That's the only thing I can think of.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

You do not need a router until you surpass one device. The modem will have a single IP address it can assign, and should you have say 2 internet devices, you will need a router to get more IP addresses to use. That said, it is very unlikely that using teh standard router is causing your issues. To be honest, I would call your ISP and ask them why you are not receiving the speed you are paying for, as the problem may not be on your end.

Ok, ill do that in the morning. though really i am not sure i like them anymore. they have already had to come out to my house 4 times. each time to install another "amplifier" in reality i don't think that would help any after the first one -.-. really its kinda a bad situation as the only other internet company is at&t.. i may end up switching though.. also thanks.
