Hello everyone,

I have had my blue yeti microphone for a year or 2 now and never had any complains. A while ago I had to move my PC to a spot near a window (against the street). The cars didn't bother me that much at first, but then windows (8.1) screwed up my mic settings for some reason. I'm not able to find a good spot where my voice is clear and the cars inaudible. I mounted the microphone on a rode psa1 and have a blue shock mount.

I was wondering what you guys use for your microphone settings with similar setup. (windows settings and gain on the mic itself).

Thanks in advance and have a great day! (:

I have my gain on my blue bluebird microphone at 50% and I have a windshield to block out fans. Not sure how that would apply to your application.

Also make sure it's on cardioid mode so it only picks up what is in front of the microphone, the Blue Yeti is known for picking up alot of background noise.

you're gonna want gain at next to nothing(adjust the volume in software till it sounds right to you), and put in cardioid mode... Noise isolation panels might be a nice idea for the window  if they're too expensive get Foam matress pads and/or blankets and just find a way to pack them in the window to dampen the sound
