I will be using it for gaming. No 4k, no dual monitors just single usual monitor. (BF4, FarCry, Rome Total War II and others next gen games)

It'll destroy both of those GPU's for about the same price.

Otherwise, get the 280x if it's <~10-15% more than the 280.

The 280x is a hair better than the 280, not much at all.

Go for the 280x, it's from a good brand and you won't need much more for 1080p gaming.

I agree, but if only one of those is in budget, the 280x would be the choice.
