Help(PSU)

I recently got a new case and more fans ect ect and I ordered a new PSU as well. I don't have any problems with it but I'm unsure whether I have the right power supply for my build because I don't want any long term damage. This is a gaming comp I use daily.

 

Here's my build...

 

nVidia GTX 980 (EVGA)

AMD FX-9590 (NOT OC)

G.Skill 240-pin, 1600, 2x8GB (Ripjaws X series)

M5A99FX-R2.0 (ASUS)

Noctua DH-14

7x ENERMAX T.B. Silence UCTB12N-R 120mm Red LED Case Fan

NZXT H440 STEEL Mid Tower Case

CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W

 

I ordered EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified 1000W

 

Online psu calculators say I only need around ~550W so I think the new one will be a bit overkill. Is my 750W okay to use? Recommended Power supply for my build?

750W is fine......if you were doing something like Xfire then you would probably need a higher wattage PSU.

The 750W will run two 980's in SLI with that build. That being said, I have a 1000 P2 and love it

1000W is way overkill for a rig with a 980. Even add two more for 3-way SLI and 1000W is still too much.

 

I would get the EVGA 750G2 and save (a lot of) your money.

 

 

750W is fine......if you were doing something like Xfire then you would probably need a higher wattage PSU.

750W will handle another two 980s easily. If it weren't for 9590 I would have no problem running four 980s off a 750W.

Since you already gotten the CX750M, I would just keep it and save your money.
