This thread is simple, the power supplies are you should NOT TRUST  will be posted here, I am tired of people getting mad because they brought a bad power supply without protection.

I've had several ASUS motherboards fail in my systems, am i right to label as a blacklisted company?

 

Here is the reality, when you have been in the game long enough, parts will fail, they will arrive DOA.

The best quality checks in the world even slip up at times, blacklisting a company for a isolated issue is not something i want to be apart of.

Sorry if i didnt get my point across(i agree with you btw) but these are ticking time bombs which are basically asking for trouble. This the thread for things that you dont get under no circumstances because there is no quality and the chances of something breaking are way above that of a good decent company such as gigabyte or asus. The chances of these psus lasting over a year is definitely under 50%. Dual rails as well and those shouldnt even exist.

I disagree with this.

 

There is almost no difference between single and dual 12v rails, and stated on Johnny Guru. 

It's simply a marketing tactic.

Coolmax, raidmax, and athena power seem to be not very good. I'm super picky when it comes to power supplies.

Avoid Logisys.  Had a 550w in a PC with an Athlon II x4 640, 8GB ram, GTX 650, DVD-RW 500GB HD and a 60GB SSD,  Blew up after 12 hours of gaming.

Even known brands have been known to make some questionable PSU's, like Cooler Master Extreme series, I've heard bad things about them.

They had quite a few problems before with their power supplies, they worked but the efficiency was a lot lower then it should be and the temps were high meaning the fan was louder.

For me, a webby that I'd use to check if a PSU is up to scratch, so to say, is jonnyguru.....for me, it's the final word in PSU review. I'd read the original review done by the original jonnyguru, he now works for Corsair, the review was between the PC P&C 1kW PSU against SilverStone OP1000 from a few years back. jonnyguru gave the OP1000 good marks even against the gold standard that time (granted, there weren't that many 1kW PSU then). So, I went out and got the OP1000, it had seen me thru numerous upgrades thru the years....from a 7950 GX2 to 2x HD2900 XT's to 2x HD3870 X2's to 2x HD5870's.....how many GPU gens and platform upgrades were there? It's now in my 3rd rig powering an X9650 @3.75ghz + HD6990 + HD6970, how's that for longevity and durability?

The Corsair CX line isn't particularly great either.

At least they have all the decent protection, these other companies sell you power supplies which could fry your computer and could even fuse out you whole house.

These power supplies have no protection on them at all making them dangerous for not only computers but the rest of the technology in your house. There have even been reports especially with ACE where they have taken out buildings.
