How to re install an os on a new drive?

Fatmantom1

I want to upgrade my system with an SSD for a boot drive,as their really cheap at the moment. Im not sure how i would go about installing the os on the new drive.

Is it just a case of having to re buying the OS and installing it on the SSD and selecting it as the boot drive, or is their a better/cheaper way?

Download Acronis True Image, with that you can clone your HDD and make a bootable backup that you can use in your SSD.

Personally im a big fan of a fresh install. Just burn an iso of whatever OS you want to a DVD (or copy setup files from an iso to a flash drive) Install the drive and boot from the DVD or flashdrive and follow the prompts to install your OS to that drive.
