Hey,

 

I'm looking for a sshd for gaming and for fast storage and retrieval of photo albums.

 

I already have a ssd and hdd but want something fast big more storage than ssd.

not really shop on amazon quite a lot. oh and budget is around £100

If it's for a desktop, then there is a 480GB vertex 2e bigfoot on offer for around £150 at overclockers UK. It's not got the fastest SSD speeds as it's an old generation, but i doubt you'd get any other SSD close to that price for that capacity. IF you want much more capacity, then go ahead and get a hybrid like you were planning.

SSHD stands for Solid State Hybrid(or perhaps Hard)Drive.

it's SATA 2. But the speed difference for real world usage will be minimal though. 

 

Although, you did say it's for storage in the OP, so getting an SSD for mass storage isn't really recommended. Use one for installing games and programs but keep documents and stuff on a hard drive for better reliability.

possibly, but that's entirely up to your network speeds (unless you don't mind the photo album stuff getting retrieved slower)

SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) you can get them upto 1TB in 2.5" drive (9.5mm) deep drives from Seagate, they are small cute and a good choice, as simular size to a SSD but bigger capacity.

 

you can get the 3.5" drive (normal desktop size) in 1TB or 2TB versions.
