Windows Freezing after boot.

Go to solution Solved by Molesy,

Ok found the issue.

for the cooler there was one pin lose i have reset the cooler so now it sits well and temps are back to normal.

for the windows freezing,  it was Geforce Experience. i uninstalled that in safe mode and now the the windows boots normally :) and re installed application and all good :)

Hello guys,

I just restarted my PC and now it just keeps freezing after boot.

I have not installed anything new so i am not sure what is causing ti to freeze. I have re installed the nvidia driver, disabled XMP and all i am not sure what could be causing it. Could it be the GPU or something else?

I have run SFC/Scannow and check disk and it still freezes.

any ideas guys

Thanks for the help.

Have you ran Memtest86 I advice running it asap.  Now, it could also be caused by I assume maybe data corruption and I would also think it could be caused by a component mailfunction due to the surge or something?

You could try repair Windows or even better restoring from a system image if you have one (you should, if you don't... you still should) then it will allow you to see if it is caused by hardware or software.

I will Run memtest now and check the results ASAP. the computer is on a surge protector. The PC was running fine and i decided to restart the PC as it was been a long time since i restarted. and after restart the thing just hangs no matter what.  I will check if i have a system copy but i dont believe i do :(

ok i ran memtest. so using all cores the test froze after a while. one core had the W sign and the other 3 was not moving. I then ran the memtest with default settings and mem passed the test. how evere i saw the CPU core at 58* is that normal its a core i3 4150 with stock cooler.  I am also able to boot windows in safe mode but when i try to uninstall some drives it says cant acces some windows thing. and in normal boot it. it boots and then suddenly freezes. I ran a bot log on the system and I believe it is getting stuck on.

This is the last entry in the boot log Loaded driver \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\mrxsmb20.sys

I can upload the full boot log if that helps ?

remount the cooler and apply new thermal and see if that helps

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
