Problem with laptop

I need to make fresh instal of windows vista on my uncles laptop...But the os is on another partition on hard disk...Since i never did it in this way,what i need to do in order to get the screen where it shows partition and options? thanks

what brand is the laptop?

 

the recovery OS is still Vista

 

I wont bother much with Vista and use Win 7 ISO instead

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

It's an old acer laptop...Yes,the recovery os is vista,my friend did the job few years ago....But i dont know how to do it since i never did it before (i always did with cd or usb)...He has no money for get new os atm :/ ...

So i tried,but all i get its a black screen with "partition 2" and nothing more...the recovery page doesn't show...I tried to download pc recovery to see if there is any other partition
