At $150, you can't really beat the R9 270. Its price-to-performance is great, and with a slight OC, can match, and even beat the 270x. But if you can go up to $200~ you can get a 270x!

I can see you're definitely on a budget! Would you be able to consider an SSD? They're amazing to have, and if you buy one now, you won't have to re-install your OS later! Then you can use your WD 1TB as a mass-storage drive, instead of an OS drive!

Sadly the budget wont let me, but i do plan on buying one in the future. My old pc died and im stuck with this dinosaur age laptop, that i cant even watch youtube videos on. So i need a pc to game on asap. It gave me a good 7 years of gaming tho.

There's nothing better than the R9 270 at $150 retail. Now if you look around for used cards, you can often find GTX 670s, 760s, 770s or Radeon HD 7970s at that price. Of course it's a tad risky to bank on used GPUs, especially AMD ones which are renowned for their mining ability... so many of the used ones you'd find could very well be worn out.

I was thinking about it, but id much rather get a new card, and not run the risk of something being wrong with it.

What about the 280 I posted? It is definitely a better card than the 270. More VRAM and faster core. And with that promo it is the same price as it seems. Is it not?

Well I am not in the us so I don't know. But the 270 is definitely a fine choice if my link was not good. My buddy has one and for 1080p it is actually really good for the money. Much fps. So graphics. He plays all new titles. At medium or high though, but usually it still looks very good.

See: I have no idea what mail in rebate is. Or how it works. For me it just showed up as around 150,-.

Then go ahead. The msi 270 has definitely so silent potential. My buddy has the exact same model. Great card. And overclocks so easily.

 

 

EDIT: I just googled that term since it is called differently in Germany. So basically it is 159.99 for you. Good deal I would say. Much more performance for not that much more money. You have to wait for those 30,- but still.

i have 150$ to spend on a graphics card, and id like to know which card has the price/performance ratio.

Go for a 280

R9 270 and 270x has negligeble difference honestly when compared to the 280

R9 280 non x can be found for 170-210

Its kinda no brainer to at least browse those cards

20 more cmon it wouldnt be that hard

Best price performance card is r9 290

R9 280 is best budget
