I need help because I ordered the card today.

In bf3 multiplayer a core 2 duo even bottlenecks an HD 7750. Yes it is going to get bottlenecked. I'll give you two options. One is the cheapest the other is better but more expensive.

Option 1: get a cheap used core 2 quad off of eBay. The card will still be bottlenecked but it won't be as bad as with the core 2 duo. Overclocking the core 2 quad to around 3.4 GHz alleviates the bottleneck all together.

Option 2: get a core i3 and an h81 board and upgrade/change platform all together. The i3 is better in gaming than any core 2 quad and won't even bottleneck a 280x. This is more expensive then the first option but overall you'll get a much much better CPU which runs cooler, wastes less power and you can upgrade to an i7 in the future.

Also what is your power supply?

I think i'm going to get a 120$ combo, Pentium G3258 and a B85 mobo... won't bottleneck and I could upgrade later to an i5

suggesting another dual core ( regarless ) is bad advice. the game itself is multi core/thread. Get the card. see how it goes. keep card for your next 8core build.

You do know that the i3 performs better in games than the SIX CORE!!! fx 6300. You know why? Because games depend more on the quality not the quantity of cores. That's why Intel beats amd in gaming every time. Also the i3 has 4 threads so its not a traditional dual core.

An i3 4130 and an h81 motherboard would cost only 20$ more. I would reccomend saving a bit of money and getting the i3. Some games don't start on the pentium and most of the games that do suffer from bad frame drops. Try and get the i3 for a smoother and better experience :P

yes your cpu is a bottleneck

ALL dual cores ARE BOTTLENECKS

all dual core

all core i3

all pentium

- - - -

get a 4 cores cpu

and stop buying this dual core crap foxs  -_-   <_< (is 2015)

Not true the i3 wont bottleneck the 270

How do i know?

Check the rig on my sig.

You are ignorant. A core i3 is hyperthreaded and has 4 threads which in gaming are fully utilised. This is well known and even in 2015 it beats amd CPUs in this aspect.

Stop being ignorant.

I can use my 270x playing BF4 @ 1080p on Medium (With Ultra Textures) and each is setup to run pretty flawless. I could even use the High preset and be comfy with it...

Considering when I switched to BF4 from BF3 the performance delta dropped a little bit..

BF3 Ultra 4xMSAA is easily maxed out by the 270x series with somewhat smooth fps , and if you want it a little smoother towards 60fps constant then use 2xMSAA.

The 270 series are no slouch (at the right price)

You'll lose a bit with your CPU, but not as much in BF3 as BF4.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
