Sup guys,i want to upgrade my RAM max to 16GB,but at hps website,it says the max ram upgradable to is 12GB,any help?can i upgrade to 16GB?

1. Manufacturers are right in most cases (I told some techs that an Asus A3H might fit 4GB of RAM, but only 2GB would work according to the manual- the manual was correct)
2. Do you need 16GB of RAM?

because like some manufactors say 12GB and people caa upgrade it to 16GB,well thats the only thing that is upgradable besides the HDD on my laptop,so ya,planning to use Windows 10 consumer previews

16GB is only useful if you pedal lot of VMs on your laptop for client demos. For home/gaming use 8GB is more than enough. Unless you want to run a huge ramdisk as temp storage.

If you havnt already, pop an SSD inside

 

If the machine runs fine, don't bother wasting money on upgrades, adding more ram above 8gb is barely of any use

oh okay,another question,so the screen is full HD and the gpu is just a GT840M,of course they is lag,so should i turn down the screen resolution in game to 768p or just turn down the settings to medium,which would look good?

Depends on the game, I prefer playing at native resolution and dropping the graphics, but sometimes a combination of both can help!

The problem with lower resolutions is that the game will get very blurry and jagged, but lower detail will still look sharp

bro,i have another question,my notebooks integrated graphics are the intel HD 5500 and it also comes with the GT840M,while gaming does it use both gpus or just one?And does using both boost performance?

You cannot use both, during games the 850m will be used (unless you disable it for some reason)
