After installing my new Hyper T4 CPU cooler I've noticed today that there is an audible 'chugging' sound to the cooler. Its fairly quite (as in, you cant really hear it with the case on) at idle but when the fan speeds up you can hear its not spinning completely smoothly. There is nothing imposing on the cooler that I can see.

Is this type of noise likely to reduce its lifespan or cause it to fail short term?

I think i'll replace the stock fan with a noctua fan at one point, but it was a bit of a PITA for me to install I really don't want to have to go through that again.

Umm, i guess its a fan malfunctioning issue, it SHOULD run smoothly :o.

Yes, you should change it, and its not such a hastle to do really, you just need remove the fan, no need to remove all the cooler (ive got a 212s, uses the same mounting system and indeed, its a pain).

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link
