Question... About a mirror

Well we have a new closet for the bathroom, we assembled it today.

But what happened just now? I was shaving and the mirror suddenly cracked, just a loud sound of it cracking.

I looked, no screws that were protruding that caused it to break or anything, just suddenly cracked.

I looked it up and one guy wrote it can happen if the temperature changes too quickly?

This really sucks for my mom who bought it :(

How can this happen? It's brand new and we had an older closet from the exact same brand in the bathroom with a mirror too, no problems.

Edit : it seems it wasn't sudden temperature changes but thermal expansion

same happened here once, it can be caused by stress within the glass causing a sudden crack.  Poor manufacturing can cause that, but every glass (panel?) is different

Temperature doesn't sound likely unless it's a uneven piece of glass. If the mirror has a slight bend, or and fulcrum of stress, this can happen easily.

Well I guess it's the stress thing or bend thing then.

Either way, it's unfair.

I will see about the warranty.

Call exorcist...

Thermal expansion is the most likely cause...

Try getting a frameless mirror maybe?

Yah I would think it's a problem with either the mirror or the installation. I don't know that much about it honestly.

or u might be really ugly

I hit my head on a shelf in that bathroom when I bent over to pick up my jeans after I got out of the shower, and the large picture on the shelf fell over when I was still standing up and broke over my head. Glass fell all over me and I got a few cuts. Not my best moment.

You aren't made to tank that damage, stop pulling aggro from furniture.
