Hello all,

I just started OC'ing my R9 280. I use MSI Afterburner, my power limit is at 20% (max) and my Core clock is at 1200MHz, instead of the standard 970MHz.

When I run Valley and Heaven benchmark, everything runs fine and my temps cap out at around 77°C.

However, when I use Furmark, in like 2 minutes it reaches 89°C and I see some weird stripes.

So which benchmark can I trust?

Thanks

Furmark probably pushes it harder.

PS: Glad you picked up the 280 over the 960 , hope you are enjoying it.

Even when I run it at stock speed, it reaches 83°C, while my case is open atm.

So will I be able to use that 1200MHz clock speed or isn't it too safe?

Try to increase the fan speed.

furmark should not be used as a benchmark, but as a stability check
