So does anyone know if you use a vpn it keeps your from being seen on like at&t gateway thing that shows you where people have been on that network, Like my employer does that and yells at us if we go on youtube to get music or something like that. Also what are some good free vpns

well what if  I were to run it off a flash drive

I tunnel all my connections over SSH back to my server at home.

 

the tunnel encrypts everything and acts as a VPN of sorts. Of course if your company has keyloggers or screen recorders you are still borked. But it's all fairly trivial to setup...if you have a machine running openssh.
