Alienware laptop keyboard?

I got given a alienware laptop from my college and since using it i have noticed you can press more then 2 keys on the keyboard at a time... As a nearly $5,000 GAMING latop aimed at gamers why have a keyboard that cant do more then 2 things at once, its stupid it really is.

Please if there is some setting to change this then please tell me.

Only solution is to not use an Alienware

 

On the serious note, if I remember correctly it's up to the keyboard nothing in Windows.

Haha, my el cheapo Dell keyboard supports 3, 4 if they're all in different zones. :lol:

Sorry to pop your bubble but Alienware is like the Apple of PC gaming, costs more, does the same/less.

But looks damn good doing it.

Ok i did the (the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog) typing test by holding down both shift keys and this is what i got...

Both of mine work fine with multiple key-presses

EDIT: just held down both shift keys on my Logitech G15 keyboard, and holding both shifts prevents me tying all the letters too

I bet most laptops and normal keyboards do not do any better job

as a reference i just did it on my (11 year old) dell keyboard....

And i got the keyboard in the box with the dell desktop i bought like 10 years ago and it was second hand

Because as a gaming laptop at nearly 5k how is the keyboard worse then keyboards made 10 years ago

Which model is it? none of them are $5000.. even the top end 17" with 980m is $2400 and the start from like $999, $1199 and $1499

The Alienware M17x R5, and i live in australia so prices would be a bit different from where you live. it costs $4,699

I live in England so its different prices for me I just saw $ so assumed US haha

 

Just bear in mind the rip off AUS prices, that laptop should cost half of what it does there

 

That said, not sure how it will effect any of your usage

I have notice in some games but its not really a problem as i hardly ever try to press 3 keys at once any way but i just think its slack of dell for the quality of this keyboard

its more one of those things you only notice when your looking for it and may i just say... what possessed you to get a 18" alienware laptop.... what sort of brick construction have you got to keep that thing on your desk? how is your legs? how does one stick it in a car without the car bottoming out?

Bought it 2 years ago when its form factor made sense - portable desktop, not a laptop, the fact it had dual 7970ms and space for 3 hard drives etc

 

At the time I needed the power of a desktop in something semi portable, I would move it around to different locations etc, now I use as a rendering station while I am using my main PC
