i had the understanding that you cannot overclock a non-k cpu, but ive read online that you can still modify a few setting the can help performance depending on what motherboard you have.

ive got a i7 4770 and a asus z97-a.

is this true, or not. if so i couldnt find anything more on google

thanks

You can bump up the multiplier a bit.

Edit: Why do you have a h60, and z97 board on a locked processor? Lol

Remember a wise man once said, "You'll most likely hear/see more bad reviews from products than good, because if they get a good product, they won't bother to write a review, and if they got a bad product, they'll complain about the product" ~ SoftenButterCream

i know that feeling, bro.lol

i meant to buy h97 and an i3, but when i got to the shop, no h97 is available, so I was forced on the z97...im now itching for an upgrade!

as for your post, OCing that i7 is at your risk, much like for OCing any other cpu. they say tinkering with blck will mess up other components..not my forte though
