Hello.

I am shopping for ultrawide monitor and i cant decide. Should i buy LG 34UM95 or AOC U3477PQU ?

Thank you for replying.

Aah, yes, this is a tough decision. You can either go for a very well known brand, LG, or the not-so-well known brand, AOC, both are great monitors from what I've read, but it really comes down to which one you really want.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

I have heard that LG has better contrast. Is it true?

Well, for starters, ignore the 500,000:1-100,000,000:1 contrast ratios, they're not the true static contrast ratios (they're the dynamic contrast ratios) and they're greatly inflated, in other words...crap!

what does IPS glow mean?

Well, it's the common thing that happens with all IPS monitors, it's not to be confused with backlight bleed, that's a different thing altogether. Basically you'll see a sort of rainbow like colouration on a back screen or dark content and if you move your head it moves with you. It's nothing really to worry about as it's quite normal. :)

Okay, back to my post.

There's two reviews I know of which might help answer your many questions, they're for each of those monitors.

Here - LG: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/lg_34um95.htm | AOC: https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-u3477pqu/

I hope they help you. :)
