Hey there! Yes you sexy:) Recently my R9 290X VRam went bad, everytime I try to play PayDay 2, BF4 etc. After 5 Minutes it will crash the PC etc. Anyway, I'm replacing it but I'm most likely going to get another R9 290X.

Anyway, is the XFX Radeon R9 290X 4GB a good replacement?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Radeon-Edition-Graphics-GDDR5/dp/B00HHIPN5A/ref=sr_1_26?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1422145832&sr=1-26&keywords=AMD+R9+290X#productDetails

And also, does it actually require 750 Watts?

(See attachment)

Anyway, if you don't think this is a good replace, what is a good replacement for under £400? I was going to go with the R9 290X Vapor-X 8GB But it came off of Amazon.

I'd be surprised if it really needs that much power, would a 600w not suffice? i'm no expert, just throwing it out there.

It looks odd, it is probably a typo, I'm running 750Watts in my system at the moment with the R9 290X and it's fine so :P

No, because it's XFX. Get the PowerColor PCS+ R9 290 (non-X) instead and save yourself some money. X is just a factory overclocked version and slightly higher binned.

No, realistic system power consumption under heavy load will be around 500-550W.

It doesn't need a 750 W PSU.

Depending on the rest of your setup, a 450-550 W PSU should be plenty

I'm running:

Gigabyte 78LMT-USB 3

AMD FX-8350

16GB Ram

1TB HDD

GPU (Upcoming)

I want something with a sleek design and some colour, which is why I wanted to go with the Vapor-X to begin with.

I have a 600w PSU and its totally fine. Also you def dont need 8gb of gram unless you have a few 4k displays

With a R9 290X, it'll draw less than 500 W for sure.

Yeah I know.

Can't you RMA your card?

Either way, it doesn't require any more power than every other R9 290x, if you could run another one you can run the xfx one too.

Yeah, It's 300 Watts on stock clock, and I got into contact with the company I bought the card from and I'm waiting for a reply.
