i7-4790K Core Temps

I would personally try to keep them 65C or lower. I forgot what temp they thermal throttle at. TJMax temps escape me. :P

 

EDIT: TJMax is 74C.

Anyone know the max safe core temps for the i7-4790k?

 

would this be about right?

80C Hot

70C Warm (Heavy Load)

60C Norm

50C Norm (Medium Load)

40C Norm

30C Cool (Idle)

In general, yes. If you're doing something like synthetic benchmarking I'd call 85-87C maximum comfortable temp. Anything above 90C and the CPU starts to throttle, 95-100C will shut off the system.

looks about right, under stress testing my cpu almost hits 90C, but it's never gone over 75 C under normal use.
