1440p GPU Solution

Go to solution Solved by YellowDragon,

My advice would be 7970 CF as they dropped the price on them, you can get two 7970s for the price of one GTX 780 and still have some money for a few lunches on the side. The 7970 may be an older card, but it still has quite a bite and you will be able to max any game out there easily for the next year or two. Go for the 7970s and put the money you would have spent on a second GTX780 in the bank for your next graphics upgrade down the line, that way when the 7970s can no longer pull decent frames in games you can just pick up the next latest and greatest.

Also I agree the Titan is a massive waste, as you could pick up 3 7970s for the price of one, never will a single GPU beat a multi-card setup of the same generation as long as a game is coded right.

And yes the titan is made FOR GAMING if not it wouldn't have popped into the market as a GAMING GEFORCE GPU.... If it's not for gaming the 780 isn't for gaming either, it shares the same GK-104 core (Not exact but similar none the less).

Dude, the titan is better and more suited for 3d work. It really is a waste of money for gaming. Fine, if you think the 7970's would have too much stuttering (which is being fixed in the next driver update) then 2 4GB GTX 770's would be fine. 4GB is enough, even 3GB would be fine. I could get either the 4GB GTX 770's or the 6GB 7970's for cheaper than a single Titan.

Thanks for the advice bud. Do you think I'd need to spend another £120 for the 6GB card? Or just go for a 3GB card?

6gb ones would be nice (if you can find them, hard to come by), however 3gb ones should be just fine, i don't think you will have a problem with too little VRAM either way.

I guess either way I'd be saving at least £160 and up to £400 that I could put towards a gpu upgrade down the line, possibly the Maxwell or the new AMD cards.
