Get a apu instead of an i3, it is better. He will regret getting a 640. get a apu and use that and continue saving to get a good gpu. and he wont be happy with 4gb of ram.

i5 3570 | MSI GD-65 Gaming | OCZ Vertex 60gb ssd | WD Green 1TB HDD | NZXT Phantom | TP-Link Wifi card | H100 | 5850

This PC will give him the ability to play almost any game at medium settings, he will be able to have multiple monitors with the power of the GTX 650 Ti 2GB from EVGA. He will get awesome multitasking power with the i3 3210 from intel, giving him 4 total threads, with 2 cores. Plus the power of the 8GBs of DDR3 1600 Mhz Ram. Worried about WiFi? Well the Gigabyte GA-H77N-WIFI Gives You integrated wifi that is equal or better than a dedicated WiFi Card. Small space? Look stylish and conserve space with the Inwin IW-BO655.300TBL Mini ITX Case that includes a 300W Power supply which is more than enough power for this build. Cut boot times in half with the 120 GB Samsung 840 Series Solid State Drive for maximum speed. Having problems with space? The Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB will provide more than enough space for all your games, movies, and music.
