$800 Dollar Max Build Help

Embattled

Hi guys, I have been working on my build for my first gaming PC and I want some help optimizing it to make sure I get the most bang for the buck without compromising the quality of the components I'm getting. I also decided to go for a nice Light Blue theme for the build as I believe Red is waay overdone :P

With what I have so far out of the way, my main concern is my choice of CPU/Socket, I have had other people on the net tell me that Intel chips are better at gaming period, but I didn't really want a locked chip and I am interested in doing game streaming and virtualization too. Tasks that I thought an OCed FX-6300 would excel at. So I ask you LTT  community, what should I do while still staying within my budget?

Best FPS per dollar with decent case. Crossfire Ready although I wouldn't crossfire R9's because of the heat and if you do decide you'll need a stronger I'd say around 750W PSU. Can go with dual channel memory for $2 more if you want. Comes with a not bad SSD, not as fast as a Crucial MX100 which is $12 more but much better than not having a SSD to begin with.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($199.99 @ Micro Center)
Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Team Dark 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II Video Card  ($239.70 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($49.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($29.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $789.06
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

EDIT: I would stay away from 970s for now until they resolve the issue with VRAM. Plus this 290 will be 5-7% fps weaker but is $100~ cheaper http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1068?vs=1355

If you care more about looks and not saving every dollar you can get this Black/blue theme. $30 more. Better Quality.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($199.99 @ Micro Center)
Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial MX100 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($62.99 @ Amazon)
