I have a VisionTek Radeon HD 6850 that i would likle to know if it is compatible with my ASRock Fatal1ty 970 Performance motherboard.

I would also like to know if it can crossfire with my Sapphire R9 270X 4GB OC.

I would also be interested in the max power consumption of this card.

I have tried hard to find compatibility. pcpartpicker doesnt even have a HD 6850 on the list of all cards

my board supports 3-way crossfire and sli, will the HD 6850 work for extra monitors alongside the R9 270x and a 4.0GHz 1.3v FX-6300 with a 550w psu

It's worth a try, you can't really hurt anything

The 270X is a re-branded 7870.

what about power consumption

Depends on the power settings and clock settings out of the box. It differs between cards because not all of them use the same default settings.

The 270x isn't a direct rebrand of the 7870, it's not the same architecture, so you can't.

I beg to differ. They're not 100% the same, but very close. (For example, their firmware is different)

Also, Guru3D has this to say about the 270X. http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_radeon_r9_270x_hawk_review,4.html

i have Omega driver for the r9 270x. it says in device management that it uses 13.251

There's a similar thing on my end with NVIDIA's drivers with my GTX 970.

If everything is working fine, there's no need for it. Do you have Afterburner?

can you run an amd and nvidia card independently in the same system

Yes, but is there a reason why you would want to do this?
