I thought that to be honest but i plan on some point doing dual GPU's and possible more ram so maybe it's a little ahead but

for what I have here what would you recommend for the PSU and still have room for some upgradeability?

X99 is an enthusiast platform and isn't necessary for a gaming build, not buying could allow that money could be put elsewhere

CPU: i5-4690k GPU: 280x Toxic PSU: Coolermaster V750 Motherboard: Z97X-SOC RAM: Ripjaws 1x8 1600mhz Case: Corsair 750D HDD: WD Blue 1TB

I plan on doing some video editing and recording and hopefully if and when BT decide to grace myself with fibre optics

some streaming too and having as much upgradeability as possible,

I also wanted a 2011 socket processer and quad DDR4 ram as i'm pretty sure that X99 is required for these two components??

You can do 4 way 980 SLI and still have plenty of extra power with 1000W
