Gtx 960 Help

I was wondering if I want to build a new computer, but I'm on a budget would the 960 be a good candidate or get AMD r9280/280x, wait for AMD's 300 series, wait longer to get 970. THe only thing about the 970 is it pushes my budget, plus I mainly play LoL, but do want the option of playing other games around 1080p most likely. Thank you in advance

THe 280x is a much better option  

 

It'll crush things at 1080p, it's a little overkill for lol though. But if you do get but fancy looking titles it'll run those great

I'd get the R9 290, it performs way better for only a bit more.

Right now the 280x is like $5 more expensive, but somewhat better overall performance, and with 50% more VRAM, it's better situated to handle future games or current games with high levels of AA. I just don't see a reason to get the GTX 960 at its current price point unless you already have a system that doesn't have a good PSU.

I'd get the 280 / 280X unless you can find some really amazing deal on a 960

As big of an NVIDIA fan that I am, I have to say.....go with the 280/280X, it will perform better which makes it better value for money.
