there is a tool for circular selections, can't really tell you the exact name

The best way to measure the quality of a piece of code is "Oh F*** "s per line

Sure thing. I just took the eclipse selecting tool in GIMP (Photoshop isn't installed on this machine), and selected the parts I wanted.

I'll work on getting more of the outer circle.

Hmm, I don't think I can get much more without having a bit of the blue bagground. But here is my second try:

Edit: Yep, part of the background is in that picture. Back to the drawing board.

Edit 2: I can't do much better than this. If I make it bigger, the background will show, and if I make it smaller, I will cut out part of the circle

The blue shows in the buttom left part of the circle.

The picture in my second edit should be better.

Quite the opposite. I have terrible vision (-4 on both eyes).

I just make the picture 800x larger when I select and it's quite noticable when you do that.

If you don't want me to have the picture(s) in my Dropbox, just tell when you have downloaded the picture you want.

Then I'll delete the pictures.

And don't feel bad for me. I do wear glasses.

Don't use Photoshop for logos. Use Illustrator. Pixelation and compression artificats suck in logos; vector that shit.

I've never used photoshop, but there's a very nice tool at the free site pixlr that will get you that black edging. Go under Layer, then Layer Styles..., then either Outer Glow or Inner Glow. Trick is to set the Hardness to 10/maximum. This will give you a solid border line instead of a glow. Just make sure to change the color to black, or whatever it is you want. Outer Glow will spread outward from your object, Inner Glow will start at the edge, and work its way back in. I would start with Inner Glow, just enough to cover the blue, then Outer Glow until desired thickness is reached. Caution: Try and keep the viewing distance at 100%, no zooming. For some reason, the Layer Tools used on a zoomed image will look differently when saved and opened later.

EDIT: I decided to show an example of what it can look like, only takes a few minutes...
