what is more important, efficiency or quality of the hardware?

they go hand and hand most of the time

it depends what hardware.

 

for example power supplies tend to be of greater quality as they're efficiency increases.

 

processors on the other hand can be of higher quality but be less efficient.

I never want to get low quality parts. As for efficiency, it depends on the build.

Quality more tan efficiency, but a little bit of efficiency doesn't hurt.
