the V550 will be enough for this build actually

the GTX970 draw very low wattage as compare to the GTX780 generation

ok, thanks :) the reason why i was thinking for a 750w psu was the fan curve since i am going for a quiet build. do you know how noisy the v550 is?

You can downgrade the motherboard and PSU a little bit and can buy one more 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM.

Ok :) what motherboard do you recomend? (preferably black/red)

i am using this PSU on my dad's PC

and it really a silent PSU

because my PC is not running any dGPU

the fan dont need to ramp up to cool the internals

I will suggest MSI B85M Gaming motherboard with black red color scheme and 4 RAM slots. Also it has SLI and Crossfire Support.

correction

only CF support

SLi is only for Z97 and Z87 boards

do you need a board with SLi support for multi GPU?

certain batch of B85 will need a BIOS update to make the 4690K work

this means you need another Haswell CPU to boot to BIOS to update it

I dont think i will need sli for a while, although it would be nice to have but not critical. i dont have another haswell gpu laying around so i would be on top off all the rest.

is it possible to oc on b85 ?

yes you can but kinda limited and the B85 VRMs are not really build for OC in mind

I will say stick to Z97 boards with Intel K CPUs
