Hello so what I have.

asus m5a99fx pro 2.0

sapphire r9 270

fx 6300 3.5ghz

16gb ram at 1600mhz

1tb hdd

240gb ssd

thermaltake 750w power supply

I recently am trying to learn more about Windows 8 and desktops due to my job so I decided to reformat my drive completely and learn to start from scratch. Everything is okay except for my video card is not showing up in my device manager. My motherboard has no video jacks and I have audio and video being brought over straight from the card that isn't working. I have started completely over again. Updating all windows and framework before installing the video card drivers over again. I am at a loss and World of Warships beta starts tomorrow. #fwp

Yes so the fans are moving I have a display for not just my television via hdmi but also my monitor with dvi but when I use device manager says that I have a Microsoft basic display adapter.

Have you installed the latest Sapphire drivers? If so, were there any error messages?

I have the first time and to no avail. I will know in the next twenty minutes if this works. I have also tried another pci x16 slot which did nothing.

do you have a spare old GPU to confirm if the GPU is not at fault?

If you cracked the box recently, check that the 6-pin power connector has not come loose.

I have used a clean os install, installed all the proper driver installs, and still my card is not being shown under the drivers. But it did automatically go to 1920 by 1080 resolution this time as before it went to 1024 by 768. I am going to buy a video card today just to test if this is the case. Worst case I am getting a NVidia 970 today and no computer to use for it...
