So after buying the H440 and quickly realizing that the fan hub is kinda terrible and makes things too loud, I need something else! PS: some loopy crap is happening with my on-board fan headers (e.g. no fan is displayed when connected into the port, but the fan still runs...no bueno, also slightly concerning)

I like the simplicity of the Grid+ but it lacks the ability to control individual fans/fan groups, I can attempt to deal with crap software but only to a certain extent, and I'm not willing to go at something for hours at a time.

I'd really appreciate some suggestions under the $35 (USD) point that might accommodate this.

Thanks for the help!  ^_^

The Grid+ is pretty much your best bet. Why do you want to control groups of fans individually? And why can't the Grid+ do that, thats terrible. :D

Then there's the mCubed T-Balancer bigNG (i have one, Linus has one aswell) which is really old! But it's good. It has tons and tons of features, you can hook up dozens of thermal sensors, controll 4 fan channels according to multiple temperature sensors, or just one if you like. One channel has 20W so you can hook up multipel fans via splitters. It is really popular for throtteling the also-popular D5 water pump. It has alert systems if you want.

Get a bit of velcro and put in the back of your H440.

Drawbacks of the t-balancer: The software is old too and not that pleasant to use. It takes some time but it's all there. Another drawback is that it is difficult to optain one. Look around on several PC warehouses and ebay and whatnot.

It is also a bit more expensive (new) than your budget allows, 70 pounds to be exact. I bought mine used for 35€. So maybe if you find one you could get one.

who cares...

Phanteks has their PWM fan hub,

NZXT has the grid+ (which i use)

Corsair has the commander mini (which probably still sucks)

and I'm pretty sure thats it

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think I'll hold out for a bit on the fan controller, I might swap mobo's I'm still not sure and I'm comfortable where I'm at so I might just get some voltage stepdowns and see how that goes for the time being. Thanks for all the help!
