So i am about to post my mother board in a few days, i have a Intel core i7 5820k. My question is can i post my mobo without a cooler on this processor because it dose not come with a stock cooler. and i would rather not put the liquid cooler on and have to remove it after everything posts.

you can power it on for a couple of seconds to see if it posts, but i wouldn't recommend it

EDIT: ignore what i said. it's not worth it. it will take you a couple of minutes to attach and remove the cooler, it's not worth risking your cpu

Ok awesome. i was really dreading hooking up the liquid cooler just to have to remove it a few mins later. Thank you for the reply sir.

I would attach the liquid cooler man, don't even risk it.

Yeah, So if i i do that, and everything posts then i remove the cooler the pre-applied thermal paste is still good correct?

What are you trying to test?  Just that the PC posts?

You're asking if you remove the cooler after it posts, which I'm not yet sure why you would do that... if the thermal paste will still be good?  It will still be good... but its not ideal.  If you are going to be mounting and remounting your cooler, buy some aftermarket thermal paste, and make sure to clean everything off.  Use 90%+ Isopropyl alcohol and coffee filters.

Im just amusing that leaving the cooler on would make it rather difficult to install everything in the case, maybe im wrong. this is my first build.

This is what im working with

Just install it last.  It is easily to install, the back mounting area of the CPU on the motherboard is often exposed on most cases, making CPU cooler upgrades and installs very easy.  Just install the AIO last once everything else in the case is hooked up.  I know you want to test to make sure that everything is working before hard mounting everything in, but its not worth risking a potential overheated $300+ CPU.

Nice rig by the way.
