Like the title says, what do you think the best $50 cooler is. I live in the USA, so I am talking USD.

Thanks,

Keith

Yeah you can just get a CM hyper 212 EVO and spend the rest on something else or save up and get a high end cooler or get a Xigmatek Dark Knight Night hawk ~50$, it perorms extremely well for it's price and it looks really good IMO.

Which is better for noise/performance CM v6GT or dark knight II. Which fans does the dark knight come with if I want to add a second.

if you are going with aircoolers, like me, try to find something like the cm hyper s , with slim fans, so you never have issues with your ram.

I'm liking the silverstone argon series cpu heatsinks. They're pretty cheap and look decent. I bought an AR02 to use in a very small mid tower case.

I cant really provide any performance numbers on the one I bought tho. I can only say it seems good but it doesn't appear to have the largest area for cooling fins. Im also puzzled why they seem like such a reasonably priced item from silverstone. the company that also sells a computer case that costs $580 (recently lowered) .. anyway, it looks like they're selling good low priced heatsinks..

Yeah the Dark Knight is your best bet.

By any chance do you have something you can compare the dark nigh to by your own experience? Famous CM hyper 212 evo perhaps ?

My dad is running a hyper 212 Evo and from my experience with it the dark knight cools about 4-5c better, but of you get a hyper 212 Evo in push pull I think it would be the same.

I will look more into those, I might wait on the cpu cooler, invest in something else to boost performance.

How high would you be able to over clock an i5-3570k with the Evo 212?

It depends on the chip, some can go much higher than others. If you have a 3570K already then you can make your own thread and people can help you out.

I know the phanteks PH-TC12DX coolers are in the $50-60 range and perform really well.

Review- http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Phanteks/PH-TC12DX/6.html

This cooler performs similar to the hyper 212 evo until you overclock then a big gap occurs

Cooler master hyper 212(25$) + nf-f12(25$)

the stock fan the hyper 212 is kinda loud so putting a fan worth as much as the heat sink on it seams to be the logical thing to do, right?

but rly it should be rly quiet and perform good enough

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.
