Laptop gpu "fan problems"

Hello all,

 

quite a while back (almost a year now) i got the samsung series 7 gamer, and back then when i knew little about laptop it was heaven.

although lately after learning much more about the components within it i realised that the gpu reaching 70 celcius when playing intensive games wasn't good (this is without an overclock).

since its a laptop, fan monitoring programs like msi afterburner don't see it/ report it at being 100% all the time.

 

at this point i decided to do an experiment with overclocking it to reach a temp where most other laptop with the gpu (its the gtx 675m) would throttle, but i noticed when it reached 76 celsius the fan speed would actually go on to full speed (i'm assuming as i haven't seen/ heard the fan speed ramp up higher), this is fine and all but i don't want the gpu to reach that height of a temperature before the fan gets off its ass and does something productive.

 

My question is is there any program that allows you to change this?

 

ps: ive done a bit of googling and spoken to some of my friends with other laptops, and apparently there is a program called hwinfo64 that changes the fan speeds for certain laptops (it worked on my friends alienware m14x), but the problem is either the program doesn't work on my laptop yet or samsung went full retard and made a gaming laptop with both a locked bios and making one unable to reach the fans or heat sinks to clean them out

I had an M18 with duel 680M's in it. They were at 80 Celsius all the time. I don't think anything can really be done to cool it down, as long as the fans are on max and you got a cooling pad on it. All I can say it try third party programs that monitor your temperatures and fan speeds.

Yeah, i'm starting to think its more of a thermal paste problem, as it is getting old now and i remember when the laptop was new it never went over 63-65 on the gpu.

 

only problem is the geniuses over at samsung made a gaming laptop where all you get access to is the hdd bays and half the ram slots, hell even a 2003 dell laptops we have at our school can be opened up to see the gpu cooler...
