When is Windows 10 released?

Basically, should be sometime after April 15 (when the Preview ends).

Microsoft didn't give any dates on the release. April is when the CURRENT preview licenses expires. But this can be (and usually is from past Windows previews) extended.

Next week, the build which many (but not all) features demoed on the presentation, will be available. The reason for this has to do that the featured demonstrated, as explained are too far from being done (probably crashes a lot, or has too many bugs to make it usable. Microsoft is also not very interested in bugs they already know about, obviously).

Microsoft just got through running through a conference about Windows 10. The technical preview is near over with and the follow up should be the consumer preview just like Windows 8. We will probably see build 9926 for the consumer preview. I am personally waiting for CP to finally install and try Windows 10 sitting directly on hardware.

 

Here's an answer to your question from AMD's faq's.

Q: When will the next version of Windows be made generally available?

 

A: At a recent press event Microsoft stated that Windows 10® would be available “mid 2015.”
