My gpu-z says my 780s are running at pci-e 2.0 x16.

Shouldn't they be running at 3.0?

specs are in my signature

edit: I did the little built-in render test, and GPU-Z says this:  pci 2.0 x 16 2.0, and the second card is pci 2.0 x 16 1.1 once its at load?

Did you run the patch to let the chipset know it should run at PCI-e 3.0

Edit: Remember to run the patch as administartor

I would wager the reason they are running like that is because bumping up to 3.0 would be pointless.

They can't saturate 2.0 x16. Nothing can right now except maybe workstation GPU's. And even then, I doubt it.

Could it be because the cards are in slot 1 & 3 instead of 1 & 2? the top card gets way to hot if i do 1 & 2 slots.

No. 4 of your 5 PCI-e slots are 3.0 x16 (holy crap). That shouldn't matter at all.
