Installing Drivers

Go to solution Solved by Opcode,

Usually I install just the GPU drivers for obvious reasons as Windows supports most of my hardware out of the box. Check your device manager and see if everything is installed. If every tree is collapsed then your entire machines hardware configuration is supported. The only things you would want to focus on is if you have high end graphics, audio, or network devices that would be more optimal with a proper device driver. Tho for me, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Hello guys

I've just built a new desktop and I'm installing the drivers now. It has a R9 280 and the motherboard is an Asus H97M-E.

I've installed the GPU driver and the chipset driver thats in here: http://www.asus.com/pt/Motherboards/H97ME/HelpDesk_Download/

Do I need to install anything else?

Go to Intel's website to see if there's a later version available.

Yes that is done already, besides that and the chipset, any recomendations?

Thank you!

I edited my post. Slight misunderstanding. I would check Intel's website to see if there's a later version of the GPU driver available. What else do you plan to use?

Nothing really... just a simple PC for gaming.

I have a gaming mouse, I'm installing the drivers right now.

What about Internet access? I guess Windows already installed a LAN driver for you?

Yep. Do I need to install USB drivers, Sata drivers and all that stuff?

Yes. You will need to install the USB 3.0 drivers and audio drivers.

the most easy way to have most of you drivers installed and up to date is downloading iobit driver booster 2 free

If you like crapware. I always urge people to stay away from such software as it's purpose for a consumer isn't beneficial. It's best to manually check yourself for updated drivers and install them manually as well to avoid any extra crap being installed from the software pushing everything in silent mode. Per example I never install the Catalyst Control Center tho I imagine this software will install it along with several other things without any options not to. These pieces of software are really nothing more than a gimmick.
