I am planning to get an H220x in my new PC. I want to get some clear tubing and RED fluid. I have seen some horrors on forums of what happens with pre mixed fluid. I am pretty sure that the H220x has a silver coil so that should help. What should I use? I don't want to end up buying all new parts due to corrosion. I was thinking maybe distilled water with some kind of dye. If you guys don't have a definitive answer, I can always ask around at Microcenter when I buy the parts. By the way the CPU is a 5820k.

It's ok to use dye in your loop when u go distilled water, but don't forget about kill coil and biocide (both).

I would reccomend this dye. If you won't use too much of it, it will be fine, just check your loop once a year (when replacing liquid) if temps are ok.

UPD: Also UV dye is a great way for leaktest, 'cause u'll see all the leaks immediatly.

Np, but don't forget about anti corrosive adds also.

You can try to put some droplets of dye on a water block, then close it and wait for 18-24 hours. If it won't get dark in a place of contact with dye, then it's ok. If does, just clean it with toothbrush and ketchup.
