super newb question

I just built my second gaming rig, this one got all the love http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/q2TPhM i've never done regular backups before, but i wanted to start doing it on this pc, i have a seagate external hdd case laying around and i was thinking of throwing a 2tb green hdd in it and using it as a daily or weekly backup, just wondering if i need that much space, and is daily or weekly nessary for a gaming/internet rig?

If you use Windows File History. It just updates every day on the files you change. So depends on how much stuff you have now. But about 75% of that.

2 terabytes is roughly 34,000 hours of music, 2000 hours of video, or 620,000 photos. But 2tb may be a bit overkill for what you described.

i mainly want it for my games and settings, im thinking about getting a nas in the furture for video, music, picture storage
