Hello guys..

Im not sure if I'm posting here in the correct topic, if I'm wrong please move my thread into the right section :)

So my question..

I have a MSI Z87-G45 with a Gtx 670 overclocked to 1293 MHz,

I'm going to upgrade my pc with a new gtx 980 because my gtx 670 can't handle actual games with my new tripple Asus mx239h setup :/

I'm not sure which non reference card I should take.. Im tending to zotacs 980 AMP! EXTREME

Do you think this is a good choice? Or should I take another card or should I even wait for the 980TI?

So my last question cause I'm not really sure about this? Can I SLI my 670 OC with the 980? I'm sure it want work but I ask before.

Or should I run the gtx 670 as second card for PhysicX?? What do you guys think?

Thanks for your answers and help :) and

Sorry for my bad english

greetings from Austria

azsheran :)

So you think I should sell my 670 for may getting a 2way sli?

If I had the money I would give you about $125 as a mid range metric for the price more if it is in super good condition, or less if it wasn't taken good care of.

Hi there. Move along, n0thing to see here.

First, no you cannot SLI 2 different Nvidia cards, but in some instances you can with AMD.

Second, get dual 970's instead of a 980. Scaling is pretty good, so that the SLI 970's will almost always beat a single 980.

Third, I don't know what brand/series card you should get. Personally, I like PNY although they don't have a 970 or 980 card out yet.

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

Microsoft Apple Valve Google Facebook Oculus HTC AMD Intel Nvidia

I'm using this data to judge this site's biases so people can post in a more objective way.

I would pick any brand that you have had a good experience with as well as one that fits your system's color theme. Alternatively, you can just buy the cheapest one possible (go deal hunting). Essentially, it'll just come down to the lottery game as each gpu overclocks differently. Temperatures and quietness are pretty similar between most manufacturer's custom coolers.

Thanks for all these helpful answers...

I had a MSI reference model before and it overclocked well.. I could slide up the voltage and the clocks very high, I guess I wanted to try something new because the tests said the zotac extreme is the card with the best tools functions and the card which over clocks best so I thought I go for one

I'm sure 2 970s would out scale a 980 but I'm not sure which opinion I will take..

The 970 of zotac costs about 400 Euro and the 980 is at 640 so a difference of 240 Euro with two cards I would be at 800 Euro of the 970 but one thing which points for the 970 is the price power value and the 4 gib ram it's hard to decide between these honest cards :/

For matching to my setup, my setup is red and black so Asus and msi as well the zotac with the carbon look match perfect to my system
