Xbox 360 controller be compatible?

Hi guys i have a question. Will an old xbox360 controller be compatible if i plug it into a USB slot ? In windows 7 64 bit os. And of course with the controller drivers . I ask this question because I don't know if I have to buy a new xboxone controller if I still can use the old one ;) Thx a lot ;)

The 360 controller should have native support. I know that they work outright but you may or may not need some sort of separate drivers.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
