Ethernet Situation

So I have a wired ethernet connection that is around 30 MegaBytes a second. The Wifi brings it down to 5 MegaBits. The only port is in my hallway where my PC is, but my mic picks up everything making me want to move my PC into my room, but no ethernet ports. I could by a wifi card. That cost more money for a slower connection. Is there anyway I can get a ethernet connection in my room without wiring a cord all the way into my room.

Do you get equivalent speeds from if you just used ethernet?

good wifi router/adapter should let you use your connection at full speed, so you can choose to either upgrade your router/adapter or buy powerline. It's a risk either way since neither of them are guaranteed to work in every situation

yea, Ive hosted a lan party just using a powerline and a switch, it worked like a charm! this is the one I use: Netgear Powerline av 500
