Hey guys,
So the idea is that I hook up something similar to an external USB SATA dock but to the inside of a 5.25 inch bay hard drive dock. I've already got the bay dock but its hooked up to a regular SATA port and I'd like to free that up for another hard drive I have lying around. All my other SATA ports are taken and there's no room for a PCIe card. I can adapt the USB connector to a free USB header and was hoping there'd be a USB SATA controller with molex or sata for power.

Something like this but hot-pluggable and with a Molex or SATA power jack instead of a barrel. Unless someone knows of some adapter I can use to adapt a Molex to a barrel connector. Most of these boards just use 12V so it should work fine right?

Well you could just take the lead and cut it off, and attach the +12V wires of the molex to those 2 wires and BAM

doesn't solve the hotplug issue, all the boards I've seen need to be powered down to accept a new drive.
