Can I improve this build?

I tried to make my first build and this is what i came up with.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor  ($96.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($70.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($82.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($49.88 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280 3GB Video Card  (190 € @ Alternate)
Case: Corsair 230T Windowed-BLUE ATX Mid Tower Case  ($74.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $673.71
 

Is this good? Is there something i can swap out? I'd like to stay in that price range but i may add an SSD for the OS.

Should I swap out the R9 280 for a 280X.

I'd go G3258 over an i3 anyday.

@Capevace The FX6300 is still a good CPU for it's price, but it is very old and will probably be refreshed sometime this year.  The rest of your build looks really good, however consider dropping the Corsair Case to something like the NZXT Source 210, and using the saved money for a R9 280x instead, Cases do not affect the FPS as much as a better GPU.

Alright so which intel alternative should i use i3-4130 is in the price range but is it a good chip?

And which GPU? I don't really know much about GTX cards.

i3 are dual core cpus and while it is better for gaming than the fx 6300 you cant have any other processes running in the background or else you will see severe performance hits which you will not see with the fx and many other things like 4k video playback on youtube probably will not work with a i3 while it works for me with a fx6300. you also can overclock the fx while i dont think you can with the i3. the i3 is also more expensive which will eat into your budget for a graphics card
