I'm trying to get into 3d designing and rendering but I'm not sure which software to use. I'm trying to make it realistic so things such as google sketchup and other similar things are out of the question. So, what software would you suggest? preferably free/30 day demos would be pretty good so i could try it out but paid software is good as well.

Thanks - Harry :)

Before I started doing 3D work seriously, I used blendr a lot.

Blendr is very powerful, and free to use.

Some other good ones are 3DS Max and Autocad which both have educational version for free.
