Sup guys,

Quick question: I'm looking to buy a really long UTP cable to place my internet router on the second floor.

I know I need a Cat 6 cable but I was wondering if it would matter (in terms of real world performance) whether I get a cheaper Cat 6 un-shielded cable  or a Cat 6 SSTP cable.

My main concern is that I'll be running the UTP cable next to a few telephone and power lines and I've read that using a shielded cable helps avoid performance affecting EMI.

However, if the real world difference is negligible I won't spend more money than I have to.

Thanks! :)
