Hi everyone, i was wondering whats the biggest difference between GTX 770 4gb and GTX 970 4gb.

performance. the 970 will beat the 770 in every game in terms of fps

The 970 is roughly 30% faster, it supports newer technology and it uses a bit less power.

 

do you think its worth upgrading. 30% doesn't seem like it to me.

I upgraded from a 770 to an R9 290 (only slightly slower in some games than a 970 with my settings) and it was totally worth it IMO. I mean, now I run 2 of them and it's still "worth it" for me. If you have a 1080p monitor I would hold on to the 770 though.

No, I don't think it's worth upgrading from a 770 right now. At least wait for the 390X and GM200 since you should still be getting mostly 60FPS high at 1080p with that card.

Which is why I'd tell someone upgrading from say a 650Ti or 660 to go with a 970, but a 770 is still a really good GPU and so it's best to wait for something more powerful than the 970 at that price range if you already have a 770.

That's up to you.

 

If you're happy with your current performance, then just wait for something bigger and better to come out.

 

For 1080p quite frankly you won't notice any huge benefit.
